Trades Grants

Registered members of Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō who are undertaking trades training are eligible to apply for assistance through our Trades Grant programme. 

Applicant Eligibility

  • Applicants must be a registered member of Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō
  • Applicants must be studying a NZQA approved trades course offered by a recognised education provider, or
  • Have secured an apprenticeship and is able to provide evidence
  • Must not have received a grant or scholarship this calendar year (1 Jan – 31 Dec).

Conditions

  • Maximum of one grant/scholarship per calendar year per applicant
  • Grant recipients agree to participate in iwi events where possible
  • Profiles and photos of recipients may be published by the Trust
  • Applications will be shared with the Māori Education Trust for possible additional funding
  • The Trust’s decision is final

How to Apply

Most applicants will need to register for our Online Portal before applying — here's how:

  1. Visit the Online Portal:

  2. Enter your email address, then fill in your details to validate your account.
    Important: Your registration must be approved by our office team. This can take up to 2 working days — please plan ahead.

  3. Once your account is approved, log in and go to the “Grants” tab in the menu to begin your application.
