Director – Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō Investments Company

Governance role in iwi investments • Location flexible but Te Tauihu preferred

Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō is seeking an experienced Director to join the Board of our Investments Company and help grow intergenerational wealth for our iwi.

Working alongside fellow Directors and the Commercial Manager, you’ll provide strategic governance, investment oversight and kaitiakitanga of our asset base – including managed funds, private equity, property, fisheries, aquaculture and other commercial investments.

You will bring:

• Proven experience as a company director or trustee;
• Strong commercial and financial skills – confident reading the numbers and asking the right questions;
• Expertise in one or more of: investments, property, fisheries/aquaculture, primary sector, finance, capital markets, or taiao/sustainability;
• Deep respect for te ao Māori, tikanga and mātauranga Māori; and
• Excellent relationship and communication skills.

An existing whakapapa connection to Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō, or a strong, established relationship with our iwi and kaupapa, is highly desirable.

Time commitment

Board hui are held quarterly, with additional hui or wānanga as required – around 20–30 days per year, including preparation and events.
