Tūāpapa series 2026
We’re excited to share something special with you all the first wānanga in our Tūāpapa Whānau Wānanga series.
When: Friday 10th April- Sunday 12th April
Where: Rotoiti, St Arnaud
Accommodation: Outdoor Education Centre, Rotoiti.
Accommodation spots are limited and priority will be given to those staying for the whole wānanga.
As we continue the journey towards the opening of our new pahi at Rotoiti, this wānanga is about preparing ourselves to step confidently into that space. It’s about strengthening our connection to the pahi, to our kaupapa, and to each other. Through kōrero and hands-on, pahi focused activities, we can make sure we’re ready to manaaki our kaupapa and our manuhiri in a way that reflects who we are as Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō.
So, what is Tūāpapa?
It simply means foundation and that’s what this series is all about. Building our confidence, building our knowledge, and building our people so we can step into this kaupapa together.
Each wānanga will have its own focus, but the goal is the same, growing our collective capacity as a people.
Over the weekend, we’ll be:
- Learning more about the pahi
- Strengthening tīkanga and waiata
- Kōrero and storytelling centred on Kehu
- Pahi insipired activities
- Waka experience at Rotoiti
This is for everyone all ages, all stages, whether you’re just starting out or already on your journey, come along and bring your Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō whānau.
Tukua ko te kotahitanga, te manaakitanga me tō tuakiritanga hei tūāpapa, mo te ara whakamua.
