Special General Meeting and Annual General Meeting
Nau mai, haere mai e te whānau. Join us at Omaka Marae for the 2026 Special General Meeting and Annual General Meeting of the Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō Trust and Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō Charitable Trust.
This is an opportunity to hear what has been happening across the Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō Group, look ahead to the coming year, vote on important Trust matters and confirm the outcome of the Trustee election.

The Special General Meeting will begin at 10.00 am. The Annual General Meeting will be held immediately afterwards.

Special General Meeting
At the Special General Meeting, whānau will be asked to consider proposed amendments to the Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō Trust Deed and the Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō Charitable Trust Deed.
The proposed changes would:
- change the Trust’s balance date and income year so future AGMs can be held in February or March, during Raumati
- make transitional changes to some Trustee terms
- clarify how casual Trustee vacancies are filled
- update the Trust Deed to reflect changes to the Māori Fisheries Act 2004
Moving future AGMs to Raumati is intended to make it easier for more whānau to travel home and participate.
Voting on the proposed amendments
Resolutions 1 to 4 will be decided by postal and online voting. Voting closes at 12 noon on Friday, 11 September 2026.
Resolutions 5 and 6, confirming that the proposed amendments are for the collective benefit of Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō, will be decided in person at the Special General Meeting as part of the meeting agenda.

Annual General Meeting
The Annual General Meeting will begin immediately after the Special General Meeting.
At the AGM, whānau will receive updates on the work of the Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō Group and the plans for the year ahead.

Trustee election
Voting is taking place for one Pūaha Te Rangi Hapū Trustee position.
All registered adult members of Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō may vote in the election, regardless of hapū.
Voting opens: Friday, 7 August 2026
Voting closes: 12 noon, Friday, 11 September 2026
Eligible members can vote using the postal voting pack or online through the ElectioNZ website.
The successful candidate will be confirmed at the Annual General Meeting.
Are you eligible to vote?
You must be a registered member of Ngāti Apa ki te Rā Tō and aged 18 or over to vote.
Voting packs will be sent to eligible members with your Pin and Password. If you have not received your voting pack by Monday, 24 August 2026, contact ElectioNZ on 0800 666 046.
